Is it Vampire Hunter D? I did a google image search and one of the characters that appeared seems to resemble your description.

When I was looking for it myself I found that one too, but that's not it; The style is also widely different.

There are two Vampire Hunter D movies. The original from 1983 and a newer one from 2001. They have vastly different styles.
