Not going to happen. Without the RPS, weaker players can't contribute. It'd be like playing UT or Q3A; weak players would just get their shit kicked in by the 1337, which is great for a small community of dedicated players, but not so great if you want a cash cow that needs to appeal to a broad range of gamers in order to be considered a success.

Maybe I'm just an odd one, but I like games where everyone has an equal playing field to one where you can't kill someone because they chose the hard counter to your character.

That's great for a FFA, but for a team-based game it actually adds to the experience when you need your teammates help to acomplish something.

How is it bad.

There's no tactical thinking involved, item system that is completely unnecessary, player models are huge as fuck, there are no headshots and the game feels really, really unpolished, animations are sharp and also there's this mount feature which is also unnecessary.

That's a plus for this type of game.

How else do you think I have Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition? It's off of Steam, this is digital distribution, they can take our games away from us if they want to now. So yes, I don't care, as long as there's one way to get the game, as long as a game's files still exist on one hard drive, games like Doom are never going to die since only one player is needed to play the game.

I have that. And the DOS version. And both versions of the original Shadow Warrior. On Steam.
