Everything past a point becomes a bit of a blur, but I'll try to recall it as best I can.

On the Christmas of 2009, I received the game Left 4 Dead 2. I never interacted with the community at all until I bought the Orange Box. On TF2 (and later Gmod), I would drift from server to server, but I never found myself attached to any one community. My life on Steam was mostly just an extension of the community I was a part of in ModDB.

At this point, I never really found a name to stick with. I liked the name I used on The Escapist, Mr. Gency, but I had fallen for the allure of MLP and used names referencing it. The only one I remember is "Wonderbolt Dash." On ModDB, I had pretended to be Aqua from Kingdom Hearts. At some point, however, I decided to just use Mr. Gency everywhere.

Soon, I'd learn about the existence of the old forums and would register several times but never post, kept forgetting all my credentials every time I thought to post. Eventually, Valve would make forums that are integrated in Steam. I took a look at the TF2 forums since that was the only one you were allowed to look at if you weren't in the beta. I played TF2 on and off, but I was on "Off" at the time, so I didn't participate.

Now the forums were out of beta and I would post in the main discussions (mostly Off-Topic, Community Discussion, Steam Discussion, Help and Tips, and Suggestions/Ideas) on and off until today. I saw several people come and go, I saw the end of forum games, I saw Tito and Spawn become mods, and I saw the rise and fall of badge spammers.

My time on Off-Topic eventually saw me getting invited to Forum Regulars made by TheDean and stayed there until it died from all the drama with Dusty, Propane, Saccadon, SuperSomethings, and so on. Eventually the next batch of off topic regs would make a new group, "Aff-Tapic" and hang out there until Discord kills that group.

Before Discord consumed AT's activity, ianj made forum filth and through them I learn about FRC. I somehow replaced Dusty as ff mod, then get an invite here.
