[Debate] City/Urban/Industrial VS Country/Rural/Village
I'm gonna go with country.

Sure, the advantages of city is, that everything is more reachable, such as stores, emergency services, schools and whatever. Also there are more jobs.

I consider myself a country boy, even though I was and still am raised in the capital of Estonia. I'm really glad to have a summer house, I would live there if I could, but as mentioned before, the nearest school pretty far away and there's a village store 5 km away. After all, it's up to my parents to decide where I live for now, even though when you're over 14 you can live on your own, if your parents allow you to.

Now why country is a better place in my opinion?

Surroundings are more natural.
It honestly depends on where the country is, as they can range from forests to steppes in Texas. Yeah, maybe it isn't the most pleasurable place for a countryside. But where I am, there's sea, forests and swamps near us, which is probably the main point why I want to be there.

It's calmer there.
If you live in country the first place, you're either retired, won the lottery, are self-employed or have some other sort of income to pay taxes and go shopping. But if you don't worry about that, the life tempo in the country is much slower than in the town. Sure, you have to physically work, but it isn't really overwhelming once you get used to it and nor it causes stress. If you aren't that big of farmer, then the most you'll probably do is mow the lawn.

It's less isolated.
Yet again, depends on place. In our village, everyone lives together and most of them are relatives. In some places the nearest house is kilometers away. Even though there are less people, but you'll know most of them, unlike in city. Also you can trade with your neighbors if there's something you don't have but they have. Co-operation is the key.

It's safer.
In crowded places, disease outbreaks are much more common to happen. The crime rates are times higher there too, which kinda makes country pretty safe compared to cities. In case of some major crisis, like economical, you'll have some kind of basic self-sustenance.

You're more independent there.
Talking more about self-sustenance, over times you'll achieve skills for most of life fields, let it be from repairing to farming. One of the components of happiness is independence, nobody likes to be ruled upon or work for others. In country you'll work for yourself, you'll learn to value basic things more, which results in a happier life.

I guess that's all I have to say.

Your opinion?
