I suppose. But what exactly would you be translating?

I imagine old books and scrolls would be the bulk of it. Anything written in stone in ruins. Stuff like that. It's a dead langauge, I get that. I just enjoy learning about the langauge, how it's spoken, and it's history.

Basically all modern languages from non Asian countries can trace their roots back to Latin. It's one of the biggest impacts the Roman Empire had.

And? It's still dead. Knowing Latin is a pretty useless skill unless you study ancient texts often.

Yeah, that is a big reason why I enjoy Latin. And I want to learn it because it is a dead language. It just makes it that much more alluring.
