Wasn't vanilla minecraft always targeted for kids though? That really has not changed. You just got older.

I mean when they started selling more merchandise than shirts, like legos. then you can tell they were trying to grab the money of the unfaithful 6 year old.

Typically, yes indeed. Depends on the mod as well. There are plenty out there that ruin the base game. Although that comes down to personal preference I suppose.
