Milkman Official Moderator Application
Hello, I had noticed that you may be considering me to have a moderator status for the group and had requested me to answer the following questions.

- How experienced are you? Any experience as a moderator/admin from other forum groups/groups and what you did there? None is fine as everyone needs a place to start, but if you do, please tell us of your past experiences.

I was moderator on a group called Arged's Society of Fancy Gents, and me and like two others carried the group for a while, the purpose of the group was to host raffles and such, only to find out the owner never actually started any of his raffles, keeping the items still, marked on steamrep and etc, and I left when I realized he was a scammer. If there's one pinned post I hadn't deleted from there yet, it's this one, but I forgot to unlock and delete it before leaving so it's stuck there I guess. Other than that I didn't really apply for much groups.

- What will you do as a Moderator?

I would lock any controversial or out of hand/drama-inducing topics, (and I will post a comment on it before locking it so I can leave a reason so to speak.), I always keep an eye out in the reports subforum (even though usually nobody clicks the report button here afik), I'll listen to your ideas, petitions (ones that don't affect the group dramatically, or doesn't affect any members) and the usual warning/ban with whom go off with the rules, and I will make sure to have the best judgement when deciding beyond any of that and/or confirmation with Evo/Krinkov before doing any permanent bans.

-How do you know when to take an action or not?

That varies based on the situation, if it's too serious, too personal against other communities/members, if the situation has occured more than once by the same people (e.g derail spam and I'll give a warning, do it once or twice more on short notice and a temp-ban is issued)

-What do you feel that FRC needs that would need you as a mod to help fullfill? What are the bad things about FRC that you feel needs to change?

Definitely the lack of Moderators and admins in the group, there aren't a whole lot keeping an eye out and as a result, overboard drama can go on, and on, and on, unless one of the mods is both online and informed, in which case they'd notice it's a complete chaos due to it going out of hand and proceeds to lock it with no reason given which will confuse a lot of people. This is not always the best format of moderating a thread, I'd simply just tell everyone once to chill out, or get back on topic and warn any form of derailment going on, and etc.

-Why do you want to be a moderator?

I feel like I've known this group for a long enough while to notice the issues with it, and I'd like to fix it voluntarily and improve it for the better.

-What goals do you wish to fullfill on your part as a moderator? Be it making the place drama free, having events/announcements popping up, making activity more exciting or proposing new things to change the group with?

If said announcements seem questionable to the major, I'd simply take into consideration and make a thread before deciding to make a new subforum, or deleting one subforum or merging one and another, if I feel the group needs a little more activity I'd maybe invite them to group chat and have a little talk about things, opinions of the group, opinions towards my moderation, any changes they feel that need to be made and etc. As for making the place drama-free, I'd definitely consider looking closely at the threads that speak more contreversially and have a lot of arguements or derailments going on, I'd simply give a warning to said derailer followed by a lock.

-What do you want to change in FRC, or prevent from happening in FRC?

Definitely the overwhelming amount of drama tagging by the group's tail. I'm willing to listen to every suggestion that impacts members of the group or the group itself and discuss with fellow staff.

-What benefits would you bring to the group?

I've got a very decent moderation format we've always really needed one, this group has been sliding downhill at a certain point because of poor moderation and I want to improve on that.

-Why do you think you we should make you a moderator?

I poured my soul into this group for months now, it was really my only post activity on steam, aside from my sometimes steam off-topic forums and alike. If I'd have to guess why you'd consider me, I had assisted a fellow of ours, Zennock, a little bit of feedback and proper moderating steps back when he was a moderator, it turned out great in the long run and I'd say if he was here he'd be a kind of guy who would "vouch" for me.

-What kind of personality should a moderator have, and do you think you have it?

If drama and such is occuring, approach it with caution and not continue any form of derailment, but instead just give out a little warning to who is doing it, and when done after that, consequences will be made. As for if everyone was derailing at the same time, best to lock the thread, BUT if there are some people who want it unlocked and promise to not derail it, I may consider giving it an unlock, and if derailment happens again then it's a permanent lock. I'll also leave a reason to why that thread got moved to XYZ subforum, why it's not considered relevant to the subforum it was originally posted in and why I picked this particular subforum.

-What will be your moderating style, and what will your behaviour be as a moderator of FRC

My moderating format is as follows:

one-person makes an offense in a thread --> warning
same person makes the offense once or several times after warning --> temp 1-7 day ban depending on the size of the offense

people simulatenous derailing/flaming a thread --> a simple warning to tell everyone to knock it off
if I feel that they have just ignored and scrolled past my message --> a temporary lock unless people who want it unlocked wish it to be discussed.

-What are your approaches to a flamewar taking place, potentially going to take place, or has already happened?

I'd simply tell everyone to keep it cool with the flamebaiting and then try work out the main problem, if the main problem is too much to handle/discuss, I'll give everyone one more chance before I'd lock it.

So yeah that was my official moderator application, I won't really be disappointed or annoyed if I won't get picked, all that matters is that I try and improve the group for the better, thanks for reading.
