Because. No one wants stickybomb demoman with shields that reduce explosive damage. That shit sounds horrifying at worst.

I meant just switching primaries. Shields would be primary. And imo it's more fitting that the Ali Baba's wee booties are a secondary.

Hmm I guess. If the Quickiebomb launcher does get a buff, it's probably another extension in time before fizzling or damage penalty decreasing. But how could valve buff the SR then?

nonononono. They are balanced.

Just nerf the stickybomb launcher in a way where it's to make the alternatives just as viable to use. Don't buff them, but make the stickybomb launcher reach a point where it's just as solid as they are. Giving a weapon best of both worlds shouldn't be alot of what both worlds are. Should be a few. Imo Erick had a general idea. Just give it a clip of 6. It still deals more damage than the quickiebomb launcher and can make traps and stickyspam.

So to sum it up, Stickybomb Launcher is a mix of both the SR and the quickie.

But since that it's good at both (even than the two weapons sometimes), it needs a balance of some sort.

Even though quickie detonates faster, Stickybomb Launcher still deals more damage.

And even though SR can set traps, they can't be detonated all at once if they're in distances, speaking of distances, if you get too far you can't detonate them either.

And sometimes pushing enemy Stickybombs away is more effective than killing them, especially if you bait the demoman to detonate them and right before that, push it to him. Sure you'll need a lot of stickies but I've seen it happen sometimes.

Better than two crappy 'sidegrades' =/= Needs a nerf

It can perform better than two weapons.
That means both of those weapons unsuperior to the stickybomb launcher in some way.

So it's not just "nerf traps, buff spam" or "nerf spam, buff traps".
