So I was invited to this group. I did a search for "reality" across this groups sub forums and then a restricted search in the "recomend users to invite thread" but came up with nothing related to this profile. I can imagine that I was waitlisted or invited by an admin directly. Still, I am not adverse to joing a discussion group. Reading this groups mission statement, I came to the conclusion that this group was founded because of a belief that the internet had potential for meaningful relationships/ possibly a reaction against the idea that people should get used to the toxicity of the internet and become jaded themselves. I enjoy this idea and I have participated in boards like that, although most of them were short lived. I am a bit concerned that this group has a very split identity based on the threads I browsed.. I am not sure if it is supposed to be for people who like games like TF2, politics, or niche anime. I decided to accept the invite because I noticed that some people who post here have been taking advantage of the ability to create threads once invited without accepting, and could potentionally remain in the group even if they had no common interests, didn't connect with anyone, or long periods of inactivty.

Finally as per this thread some things about me; I enjoy reading, writing, video games, philosophy, history, old movies, theatre, and live improv. I currently speedrun a few games, but am more concerned with publishing research papers. These are vague, but I'm not partial to genre and as I have an addictive personality, I've been known to go really deep into things such as comic book history,russian literature, and racing video games. The fact of taking several months at a time on something new to me doesn't really bother me.
