Depends. In public i try my best to not do anythign that others could percieve as ridicolous, such as sayign random shit or losing my temper.

I have high self control around other people. Too high. I had fun with my upbringing of "eat your peas, cause children in Africa don't have any" and such. When I have to disagree with someone I do it apologetically, and I avoid conttroversy to an extent that I intentionally plan to give my opinion on the "unimportant" parts of life, so that their is no oppositio or hurt feelings. In fact, when I was at school I had intense problems due to refusing to ask for help under any circumstances. And then after my puberty I stamped the image of my Mother's praise for me as a "Good christian Gentleman" into my mind, and came close to scouring myself whenever my sexual appetites reared their head. It's only self-control when I talk about it. Everyone else calls it repression.
