I'm fairly certain that it's because some view the song/dance as being somewhat "catchy", or rather, memorable. Although, this is merely an assumption on my part, however.

I wasn't attracted to playing video games years ago. However, I once tried to play Soul Reaver[en.wikipedia.org]. I must say that, as perhaps the earliest game that I've played, it was quite the experience. A memorable & enjoyable experience, I'd say.

The opening cut scene to said video game was quite amazing as well. And I'd like to say that the dialogue used in the whole series may have influenced my manner of speaking by some degree.

But regarding the topic at hand, I once saw a few videos on Youtube featuring "challenges" involving the drinking of bleach. One such video presented a man drinking a brand of such item. He immediately regurgitated a voluminous amount of blood shortly after, several seconds later, I believe.
