There's this nice rogue lite game on steam called Rouge Legacy. It's pretty fun

Not sure if this is supposed to be a joke or not, but Rogue Legacy was immensely popular awhile back. It was so popular that it was actually kind of hard to get away from the fan praise for it. As someone who didn't care for the game (Its defiantly a great game, just something I couldn't get into), it got kind of annoying seeing it everywhere after awhile.

Typically I wouldn't consider a game with a "Overwhelmingly Positive" score to be underloved, but after seeing the back lash Epic Battle Fantasy 3 was getting on greenlight I felt like I needed to spread the love for this awesome series. The story is simple, a girl named Anna goes on a quest after the prized possession of her village (and her panties) were stolen by bandits. She tracks the bandits down, the stupid, greedy but loveable Matt, the perverted gun obsessed Lance and the hypercritical and judgemental Natalie. Together the four go on a quest through a cave, factory and ancient temple on their quest to defeat Godcat; unparalleled creator of all.

A lot of people bash the game for being generic, but that's the point. Its a parody of a classic JRPG plot. Matt is and always has been (other then in the early stage of the EBF series were he was a self insert Final Fantasy OC but lets ignore that) parody of the typical JRPG hero. The writing also gets hated on for being "meme-filled dreck" but I always thought Matt Rozack ("Kupo Games") did a good job at making the memes actually pretty charming and cute rather then cringeworthy.

The game is just all around solid too, the gameplay is very deep and complex, way more so then it looks. Theirs tons of "states" you can inflict on your enemies and yourself for added effects, like wet enemies take more damage from lightning based attacks for example. Theirs a ton of other stuff obviously but it has some of the most strategy I've seen in a RPG game -- and I'm a huge RPG fanatic. Hell, even the grapics are pretty sweet. They're bright and colorful and the The paper cut out aesthetic is really nice and cute. The music just rocks too. "A stroll through nostalgia" is just legendary.
