i love both, and while both are similar, both are also unique in their own ways.
i find MC to be a lot more accessable to people who haven't played the game before, and you can still have a ton of fun without having to learn everything.
in terraria, it can still be fun in multiplayer, but there's a lot more to learn and a lot more to understand.
terraria has more fleshed-out combat, and more bosses, weapons, etc.
minecraft has more things to build.
minecraft is better for exploration because of infinite worlds.
terraria offers more in terms of progression.
it really depends on what aspects of each you like more.
