Why don't you just contact some users you're interested in talking with. Find someone both you and Evo like, and then hold a vote to see if they'll become mod or not? That seems like a good way to make sure you only have quality mods, but still let people have a choice.

Also, this petition is rather non-specific. I would recommend adding that "no shit-posting in the General Discussions" rule that I keep requesting.

I think shitposting counts as spam. The point of the petition is also to help the mods undertake whatever reforms would be necessary, without feeling like they'll have a giant backlash.
