bee movie has some of the weakest of jerry seinfeld's humor ever. the only reason why people find it funny is due to the character's surreal motivations for their actions (fuckin barry wants to make bees have equal rights to humans, the lady w/e her name is wants to help him set up a law suit to sue humanity for stealing honey, etc etc). it tries to be a social satire, family comedy and nature aesop all at once while having the weirdest setting for all 3 at once.

the new lorax is just capitalist cash-in on nostalgia, made to sell as many lorax plushies as possible while dumbing down the original environmentalist message of the story, that is, man having an intricate and dependent relationship on nature to survive and how human greed, no matter how well motivated or not, does nothing but damage this relationship to neither of the party's benefit.
