I'm a huge Diablo fangirl, but I don't like Path of Exile. The pseudo-MMO thing is cool since you see people in town and it's easier to find people to play with, but it just didn't feel right.

Too bad Blizzard North and Blizzard South had a lot of disagreements and Blizzard North left. Diablo 3 was originally going to be an ARPG-MMORPG but Blizzard South didn't want it to compete with WoW.

Um.. that would cause a shitton more problems than competing with WoW.

For one thing, Diablo fans are niche, even by Blizzard standards, there's a reason they're playing Diablo instead of WoW.. because they wanna play Diablo, the top down dungeon crawler RPG, not WoW.

And for another it would take away tons of resources which they were already thin on before Activision merged with them.

It wouldn't be like WoW. Not every MMO game has to play like WoW.

They were going for Diablo mechanics, but MMO.

Activision barely makes any choices when it comes to Blizzard nowadays, after Diablo 3's fiasco of a launch Blizzard is basically just an Activision funded, but seperate, entity.
