What do you guys think of private profile options?
This seems like a popular discussion in Suggestions/Ideas, over there it's always the same people making the same arguments and, to be honest, I'd like to discuss it with a different crowd.

So basically, do you guys think Steam should add the ability to choose what parts of your profile can be private? So you get to choose if you want people to see:
-Your friends list
-Your recent activity
-When you've been online
-Total hours spent playing

Before someone makes the "set your profile to private argument", this is for people who want to display their profile while hiding more sensitive stuff like playtime and friends.

Wew, I was expecting the usual "you idiot if your friends judge you for this you need better friends yadayadayada" creators of these threads usually get as their first reply.

I've heard of people wanting to hide their friends when they get trolled so their friends don't get harassed.

I'd like that.
I have a few classmates on my friendslist and I don't want them to see my horrible art, but at the same time I want the others to see. You know?

I can see why some peopel woyuld prefer it that way. That said, it could just end up beign signs of someoen suspicious.

True, but I think hiding your entire profile will only make you look more suspicious.

I don't mind either way. It'd be nice if I could adjust a few more things and have more control over my profile, but since everything on mine is open, it wouldn't really affect what I do. I can see how it would be beneficial to some users though.
