Forum groups are a bad medium, period. They have nothing to offer that isn't done better by reddit, youtube, and discord. New innovations in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and forum games, new ways to write copypastas, new methods of face revealing, it's breaking new ground even today. It's why reddit and youtube are two of the greatest mediums there are.

Forum groups do none of this. It is a dead medium, and its existence proves that Steam overall has limited potential to create quality discussion. I've joined tons of forum groups back when I was younger but like an adult I grew out of it. Forum groups used to have a reason to exist, a purpose as a place to discuss videogames, made by people who truly wanted to express their love for a game.

Nowadays? All you get is edgy little 10 year olds in groups with no joke, no point, and no meaning. I haven't bothered to join anything in a decade because of how bad it is these days.

My point is, don't bother joining steam forum groups. They're not worth your time. Go join one of the hundreds of thousands of subreddits out there instead.
