So Evo, this sounds pirating sites 101. Often they have ads that look like the video player but instead bring up pop-ups to try to trick you into downloading something. If you closed it off you should be good, but if you want you could download something easy like malwarebytes and run a scan on your computer. Who knows, you might have caught something using shady sites like that unintentionally.
