Everything else... just play and ignore the people spitting on your corpse repeatedly. You'll get better with time, just like anything else.
But seriously, you should start off with a class like soldier and work your way to the other classes once you start getting used to it.
Master stock weapons first.
On another note, if you choose to play as the Sniper, do try to move to a different location after killing a few enemies. I do believe that it may help you avoid any enemies whom intend to kill you. Should such an occurrence potentially happen, however.
You could download this bot mod if you want to practice on every map with waypoints that isn't just the use of nav_generate.
What's the problem tho
As soldier, aim at the feet, not the chest.
Never stop moving.
Listen for uncloaking and shooting.
Don't stab and sap if the sentry is facing you.
