Had that policy at my high school. Absolute shit.

It's allowed here but not in class of course.

My school doesn't care if you bring your phone, and half my teachers don't care if we check it occasionally in class.

My school had a similar policy where you can't use phones during classtime.

I barely use mine aside of certain situations, but still, pretty crap if you have something important to worry about.

Regardless of the posters every five feet warning that phones will be confiscated, most people still brought their phones anyways. I had a friend who would play super smash bros every day in the first few minutes of the period and our teacher didn't really mind.
