Turn videogames into something competitive was the worst idea ever.
The intention of this thred isn't to offend any competitive player, but seriously. Why turn a hobbie and something fun to have a great time into something competitive?

I mean, I personally play videogames like TF2 to have a good time, to laugh with the others or just to play without any pressure and enjoy the game itself.

I respect the competitive scene and I know that this is just my opinion about it, not for this I'm going to hate on it or insult their playerbase, but it kinda ruins the fun of the game.

I wish Quake Champions was something more like Quake 1, with an actual single-player campaign. But nope, another e-Sport game.

Oh well, give me Classic Deathmatch or I'm not bothering.

TBH, I only play competitivly becuase its the only way to get good match noww and days.

Did you delete this thread and repost it? Because I went to click on it, and now I think my steam notification counter is stuck at one.

Anyways, competitive is so you can truly test your skills in a game, against others who are about as equally skilled. Some people play games for a challenge.

Taz, a competitive CS player, has said that he will will quit scene whenever the fun goes away for him. I think that it just comes down to whats fun to you and for some thats trying to improve themself.

Because people enjoy competition, and if they get the chance to make immense money doing something they love. Why not? Why play professional sports? Football should have stayed a hobby. Why design clothes for a living? It should just stay a hobby. Why should you become a chef and make money? Cooking should just be a hobby. How are these any different? Why don't you mention these? Or does it only apply to video games because you play them?

The only other reason than the ones mentioned I can think of is someone would play comp for is to get frag movies made of them. *Cough* pondfiller *cough*
