Welp, this thread won't last long.

It wasn't until today I even saw the hate, it seemed to be fairly civil jokes about it at first and there was even a few threads about the game.

A) people want an excuse to shitpost and joke, a la "le Winston is Harambe"

B) you are getting your impression after an unpleasant encounter with 3 regulars out of the 20 or so in this group

A factor I've noticed is that a lot of the tf2 forum regs here were/are heavily annoyed by the amount of "TF2 IS DYING AND OVERWATCH IS UNDENIABLY THE SUPERIOR GAME AND IF YOU DARE TO DISAGREE YOU ARE DEGENERATE SHEEPLE THAT ARE NUMB TO REAL QUALITY" type of threads that had been popping up the past half year on the forums. This left a bad taste to some people about some of the Overwatch community.

OW is a decent game. Sure it isn't bad, but it's far from what people made it out to be. The praise it gets is partly from Blizzard's marketting campaign rather than solely on the game's merits.

As for the bile, partly due to it being overrated, partly due to the comparisons (fuck you MatPat) and partly due to Valve's own lackluster efforts to maintain TF2.

And Chris Metzen is a shitty hack writer.

We don't, we just hate its fanbase.

Pretty sure that most of the members have a neutral opinion on Overwatch. Thing is, the people who hates the game are also very active making it seem like the entire community dislikes Overwatch.
