I have been thinking. Usually people can be divided into two categories which can be further divided into further sub-categories. The two categories are:
(A) People who see video games as simple time wasters, nothing more than that.
(B) People who see video games as something more.

I will now concentrate on the sub-categories of category (B).

Category (B) can be divided into two large sub-categories. "Casual" gamers and "Competitive" gamers. This sub-category can be divided further but I don't think I can accurately list down all sorts of sub-categories. I'll just concentrate on the main concepts of "Casual" gamers and "Competitive" gamers.

"Casual" gamers just want to have fun, enjoy the game (perhaps with other players too) and overall just have a good time. A excellent example of them are friendlies in TF2. They just want to have some fun, help some people out, conga, etc. Usually "Casual" gamers don't care if they're losing or winning. They just want to have some fun and share that with other players. They don't care if the game is lacking in some parts, as long as they enjoy it

"Competitive" gamers want to excel, dominate, and win. A excellent example of them are try hards in TF2. They want to achieve MVP, get to the top of the scoreboard, kill friendlies on sight. Usually "Competitive" gamers are known to rage against other players if they're under-performing and some are even known to rage quit.

There's another subcategory that's a mix of both of "Casual" and "Competitive" gamers. I'll edit this thread later if I have more time and/or feel like it.

In the end, keep in mind this is just a rambling of another person. Don't take this too seriously mkay?
