I do not have Overwatch and have not played it either.
I played it in beta, was alright.
Everything else about it though...
Chris Metzen is a shitty hack writer
Now, i'll be honest. I like Overwatch, but no. I'm not a rabid fanboy. Just wanted a discussion about it. Thing is, I holded of buying Overwatch because of its rather large price. However, a friend of mine "convinced" me (Giving me loads of item) to buy it and so I did. Downloading was a huge pain but I got it working. It actually surprised me. I expected way less of it but it did way better than I thought. I'll explain more in detail if you ask me to, I don't want to flood you with Overwatch opinions.
If I may
20 tick rate servers.
Okay, every multiplayer game has ticks. A tick is a point in time where your computer syncs up to the servers, and sends information between the two. The higher the tick rate, the lower the rate of incidences such as getting shot behind a wall. 20 tick rate is basically this happening 20 times a second.
And that is really fucking bad.
For comparison, CS:GO runs at 128 tick, if memory serves me correct, and people are rallying for even higher tick rates.
And the excuse they gave was complete bullshit. 'Raising the tick rate would break the game for 20% of the playerbase.' If your computer is so bad, it cant handle 60 tick rate servers, they wouldn't be able to handle 20 tick rate servers. The only reason they wouldn't upgrade is because it costs more money, which can't be used because TEN MILLION PLAYERS.
Apart from it, that explains why in my death replay my character didn't use their ability even though I was pretty sure I activated it. Though my net was screwing up or the replay was just played incorrectly.
Direct Quote: "Right now, for example, what we've seen is that it wouldn't work for about 20 per cent of our users."

I've played the beta, it was alright, and I don't have Overwatch because I have more important things to buy with sixty dollars!
