For everyone who ended Fallout: New Vegas
I ended New Vegas siding with NCR because when I was playing it first time (I'm 14 back then) siding with the 'good guys' was top priority. What if I get the independent ending, is it generally a 'happy ending'?

If you have good karma and make the correct choices then yes. IMO the independent ending is the best ending
