Zeus shows his power. Smites 70 Indians for no good reason

At least 93 people have been killed and more than 20 injured by lightning strikes in the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, officials say.

Most of the people who died were working on farms during torrential rains on Tuesday, reports said.

Lightning strikes are common in India during heavy monsoon rains.
Fifty-six people died in Bihar while 37 people were killed across Uttar Pradesh, Jharkand and Madhya Pradesh

"Many of the victims are children and women," Anirudh Kumar, a senior official at Bihar's disaster management agency, told AFP news agency.

This day in history

1944 FDR signs G.I. Bill

On this day in 1944, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt signs the G.I. Bill, an unprecedented act of legislation designed to compensate returning members of the armed services–known as G.I.s–for their efforts in World War II.

As the last of its sweeping New Deal reforms, Roosevelt’s administration created the G.I. Bill–officially the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944–hoping to avoid a relapse into the Great Depression after the war ended. FDR particularly wanted to prevent a repeat of the Bonus March of 1932, when 20,000 unemployed veterans and their families flocked in protest to Washington.

The American Legion, a veteran’s organization, successfully fought for many of the provisions included in the bill, which gave returning servicemen access to unemployment compensation, low-interest home and business loans, and–most importantly–funding for education.

How virtual reality gaming is blowing its big chance in 2016

This year’s E3, the gaming world’s annual marquee show, was virtual reality’s chance to shine. Two high-end headsets — the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive — are on sale already, although they serve only a small market. We’re four months from the launch of PlayStation VR, which will open up the medium to potentially tens of millions of PlayStation 4 owners. And Oculus is supposedly releasing its Touch motion controllers by the end of the year, making the headset significantly more attractive. All three platforms are established enough that developers are starting to take notice, but they still desperately need games. There’s never been a better time for a blitz of good
VR news — or a worse time to get bad news.

There certainly was some good news at the show, including a release date for PlayStation VR, which will hit shelves October 13th. Ubisoft announced a Star Trek game for all three platforms, complete with a decently fun demo. And Oculus promised details on Touch this fall. But E3 also laid bare each platform’s glaring weak points, just as VR gaming is supposed to be getting off the ground.

'Clash of Clans' sold to Chinese Web giant in second-biggest gaming
deal

Chinese Internet giant Tencent is spending $8.6 billion for a majority stake in Clash of Clans game publisher Supercell, a move that will expand the popular mobile gaming franchise to more of Tencent's massive user base.
Tencent is buying out another Internet giant, Japan's SoftBank, which had held a 73% stake in Supercell. Tencent's consortium will own about 84% of the mobile games maker, valued at $8.57 billion, the remainder of which will be owned by Supercell's own employees. The deal values the Helsinki, Finland-based Supercell at about $10.2 billion.

The transaction is the seventh largest Chinese overseas acquisition on record, according to Dealogic — ChemChina's pending $46.7 billion deal for Syngenta is the largest — and the second largest gaming deal behind Chongqing New Century Cruise's $9.1 billion acquisition of Giant Interactive last year.

Seeing as this group is more of game related, why not have more about game updates, upcomming games, E3, patches and other stuff?
Not saying we can't have real life/serious news, but it'd make more sense.
Besides, most of us are probably memers and will never be taken seriously.
