Does anyone get the feeling that games are becoming more like movies nowadays?
I feel like games are becoming way too much into storytelling and making it a movie like scene instead. Some games have basically become movies but point clickers in where to do next, like a movie you have to work on by yourself. Does anyone feel like games are becoming way too much like movies and not their own thing?

I don't believe so, but I don't play as many single player games. But I for one don't mind more story telling and lore development in games. I love reading through the stuff.

Oh shit, I didn't answer the actual question. I do believe games are becoming more like movies, but not enough to the point where it's less like a game and more of a movie. I believe it's like a two for one deal now. I'm also pleased by the fact a rich world and story is more common and expected in single player games now.

Hmmm, I see. Well that is pretty cool and I also saw it as that. Two in one. Why pay for movies when you can buy a game and get to watch a cinematic movie through it while doing so, even better is that your controlling it and you feel like the main haracter. Really good there. And yup, I guess your right, their still games but more movie-like now. I just worry for the day where games start to become more like movies than game. 60% movie, 40% game. That is the day I fear bad things may happen.

I doubt that'll ever happen unless it becomes the main stream. Right now it's just a subgenre. Though I also doubt it'll ever be main stream with young kids prefering action games like COD and the thought action games are fun being a popular opinon. I don't blame you for fearing such an outcome though. Only natural to fear the unknown.

Metal Gear Solid was like this.. at least until mgs v hit
And that's a sad thing, where are my 20-minute cutscenes ;c

Annoyingly so.
What happened to great gameplay where I can run around and gun down demon ninjas? Not to mention the narrative is pretty bad for most games.
