So, I got a couple of drafts for the College Essay.
The first one, I call 'Venomous Plans'. It's about the story of a thing that I did in DotA 2, and this one I wrote because I had nothing and needed something.

I am in the middle lane, playing as Lesale Deathbringer (known to all as The Venomancer). The lane is clear of the enemy Invoker. My stationary poison slinging Plague Wards are in place, burning down the enemy creeps with ease.

*KILLING SPREE*

The sound echoes throughout the game. I send my view to the top lane. Ember Spirit, who had taken the top lane, had failed to defeat the enemy Disrupter. However, he was low, and heading back to base to heal. Fortunately, I had a Shadow Blade on me. Using it, I went invisible, my speed increased. Between the second and third towers, I spotted him, riding atop his dinosaur-like mount. I spit my Venomous Gale upon him, slowing his speed to a crawl. Wards go down as I barrage him with more spit, its passive ability slowing Disruptor even further.

“Bury me beneath the endless grasses.”

“My venom, your veins.”

Victory was mine, his bounty stocked into my gold reserves.

On the spot, I observed the situation, and enacted a plan to avenge Ember Spirit. Using the tools at my disposal, I saw an opportunity, took advantage of it, made a plan on the spot, and enacted it flawlessly. In many situations, I am capable of creating a plan with a 95% success rate. The other 5% is horrific failures. Absolutely horrific failures. One cannot conceive or comprehend the total quantity of failure in that 5%.

And now, I shall write some random junk to extend the word-count of this essay… Oh, it seems that this one phrase just tipped the word count over 250. Carry on, then.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second one, I like to call, 'The Confuser'. It's an essay about nothing! Literally!

Once upon a time, there was a man. A man whose life was so incredibly boring, when he stepped up to write his college essay, he came up with jack diddly. For hours upon hours, he pored over draft upon draft. Would he write about the video games that he played? No, it doesn’t make for good material. How about a mistake made years ago? Nah, too much embarrassment to be had with that incident. Hmm, maybe he shall write an essay on the fact that he does not have an essay topic to write about. Paradoxical, yes, but is it possible?

Let us start with the mere concept, making an essay on the inability to make an essay. The fact that this essay is being written in the first place may or may not be proof in-and-of-itself. It’s like a show about nothing, but instead of it being about nothing, it’s about how there’s a lack of a plot. So, not like it at all. Like Seinfeld, but not like Seinfeld.

How about we consider the content of said essay, or rather, lack thereof, next. Is it possible to make an essay of at least two hundred fifty words on one’s inability to make an essay? Is it possible to write about a lack of something? Thousands upon thousands of reviews of various media would suggest, yes, it is extremely possible. Papers have been written about how something lacks content. So, would it not be possible to make an essay about nothing? I say yes.

So, I end this essay, and leave you with this phrase, is it possible to write a college essay on nothing? The total word count of this piece is two hundred ninety eight, so I say, yes, it is very, very possible.

They're great, but i'm unsure if they fit for your college.

So we're the essays that were considered the best the college had to offer.

They don't have particularly high standards
