How do I stay alive as DPS in Overwatch?
Really.

I like McCree. Thing is, everytime I play him (or any other DPS for that matter) it feels like I'm a bullet magnet.

It's not even my aim, as I average 45% accuracy with McCree (I shoot a lot at shields, but still).

Most of the time I have gold damage/elims as DPS is when I have few deaths. I feel I could do much more if I wouldn't die to everything.

So yeah... how can I not die?

Seriously though; I have no idea, I usually don't play attack heroes.
I have barely played Overwatch the last month, either.

While i'm nto very good with McCree, i'd advice you to not stray too far from your team. Also try to keep your distance to use the Peacekeeper's accuracy to your advantage.

Hide behind the tank
Make sure to keep your healer alive (they'll be grateful and will probably save your ass in return)

Just need to point out, that's kind of the case for any game you play unless you're playing one of those "Die to win" games.
