Who told Apple removing the 3.5mm was a good idea?

In case you don't know. The IPhone 7 removed the 3.5mm headphone jack(the earbud port) and replaced it with earring-sized wireless ones.

So what group of dumbasses at Apple told them this was OK?
That 3.5mm jack:
-Allowed most of the earbuds and headphones on the market to work
-Is what over half of wired selfie-sticks rely on
-allowed wired speakers to function
-allowed some perephirals I forgot to work

People defend it because apparently it's setting new standards, despite the fact that there was nothing outdated about the headphone jack, other than it existing for a long time.
