VPN is A solution to get out of Asian servers if you must, but note that there is usually a latency cost associated.
Everytime I wanna play the new PTR on the American servers of Diablo 3, my ping gets a nice 100-300ms added to it, just because of more hops and distance. VPN makes no difference, in fact it makes it worse sometimes.
Mostly focusing on Canadian, US and European servers
Depends what games, but mostly I would imagine it to be quite poor, but possibly playable.
Diablo 3 for instance runs ok on 200-300ms latency (still green in the bar), but trying to play Dota or CS with that is like punishing yourself.
Canada: 190+
US: 250+
Europe: 130+
These are all just estimated anyway
And I do not feel bad
