Not really. Sometimes requests get ignored, and it's currently very inconvinent for large amounts of users to get in at once, thus creating the need for the bridge group
While I see your point in that it's possible for large groups of people to join, I'm not entirely convinced that many people will actually use the bridge group and would rather just jump into the main group.
Additionally, if a request is ignored and they really want to get in they can try contacting one of the staff members. I can't speak for the whole team, but I know I don't skip any requests sent to me.
However, I will remain neutral on the subject for now, as it seems like it could be useful if so many people actually do have issues getting in.
It will allow people who are not normally allowed into the group to argue their case in a controlled enviroment, rather than having to constantly PM or just spam the profile of whoever they can find on the mod team
