Let me just shill a couple games for a minute
Skysaga: Sandbox MMO in alpha right now that's cubeworld if cubeworld didn't die. Crafting system is like Tinkers Construct mod for Minecraft, and there's a heavy emphasis on exploration.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen: Old School Style MMO made by the guy that developed Everquest (legendary MMO made by SOE in 1999. First MMO to utilize a 3D engine. Was good). In pre-pre-alpha and will be out in early 2018, and the devs confirmed it will be a subscription-based game with no cash shop.

GAYDAY 2 - Lots of flaws. Community is autistic. Bad updating method. It's just the amount of content and collectibles it has that keeps me going back to this widely disliked game.
