well here's some tips (i've handled a school trip before, so i kinda know):
1. If you do plan on "ice-breaking", make it not "suck", seriously. 13 yos are easily bored, so if you're gonna do it, make it a bit "exciting" for them
2. Have a backup plan, aka if the weather suddenly changes or something, make sure to have a backup plan
3. Overstocking supplies a bit is ok, just in case the supplies you bring aren't enough
