Welcome to F1AK the Australia/Kiwi PC racing leagues. We pride ourselves on having challenging, fun and fair races for any skill level. We primarily hold races on Codemasters F1 games, however our members also play other racing formats such as Assetto Corsa, Project Cars and the Dirt series. To partake in our leagues, you must meet the following criteria:

1. The games listed above. If you only race in one, i.e. F1, that's fine.
2. You are encouraged to have a recording programme installed such as OBS Studio, Geforce Shadowplay etc. This is used to help argue your case in racing incidents. If you do not have recording software then your case will not have an argument.
3. You must have a microphone to communicate to fellow racers.
4. You must have installed discord which is our communication platform. Link is https://discord.gg/9pppx75
5. Be available to attend at least 90% of races on sunday evenings.

This has been discussed at length and we have decided to stick to the normal F1 points format being 25 18 15 12 10 8 6 4 2 1.

For the 2017 version of Codemasters’ F1 game, we’re going to be running 2-3 leagues concurrently.

Full time drivers will only be able to participate in ONE league at a time.

Fill-in or stand-in drivers will compete in either league as needed. Part-time drivers (those who can’t race every week) will be competing in league B.

Part-time driver slots are subject to free slots being available.

How are we determining which league people will participate in? Before the 2017 game launches, prospective drivers will be asked to set a time in time trial on three randomly determined tracks on the F1 2016 game.

Those 3 times will then be combined to give a total time. These tracks are Bahrain, Canada and Hungary.

The top 20 drivers with the fastest total times will compete in League A and the bottom 20 drivers will compete in League B.

How are we deciding which cars people will drive in?
Seats in a team will be determined from the time trial times, with the fastest driver having first pick of car, followed by the second fastest driver and so on.
However, in the interests of close and fair competition, the top 4 drivers MAY NOT select the same team as each other.
Drivers from fifth and onwards are free to pick any team.

How does promotion/demotion work?
At the end of each season, the bottom 5 drivers in the driver’s standings of League A will be demoted to League B, while the top 5 drivers from League B will be promoted to League A.
This is done to keep leagues fresh and competitive, while also allowing people to get to grips with the game and improve over time, with a goal to aim for!

How do I attend a race?
Race attendance forms will be posted every Monday for the following weekend on our Steam Group Page.
You MUST comment on it whether you are attending or not. This gives the admin team time to organise a replacement if people are unable to attend.

Races will be held on Sunday evenings WST 16:30, CST 18:00, EST 18:30, NZ 20:30

Attendance forms will be posted on the Monday after each race and must be commented on.
Stewards meetings will be held on Tuesday nights and results will be posted on Tuesday night and appeals can be submitted to Charlie Whiting of the perspective league on the Wednesday.
