I hope you do know the real reason he left Microsoft. Valve's origin story is quite interesting.

Steam is actually the first modern digital games storefront, Gabe Newell launched Steam and beat Microsoft and EA to it by just a few years.

Valve started because Microsoft saw no benefit to improving graphics for games in Windows. they let Gabe and the other founder leave to start Valve and tried to forget them.
It wasn't until after their success that Microsoft decided that videogames are a thing now.

Qbasic was the best basic. Obviously it stole the name from the original historical BASIC language. Microsoft didn't need to remove this from Vista and later and had no real reason to either.

This is a concern that might grow and get out of hand, he needs to at least know regardless if you show him this forum topic or not.
