I've seen a lot of other things several times. I guess people don't check anymore. THIS IS A SERIOUS THREAD!

If they're crafty enough I'd like a running total next to each game (assuming they're in ranked order). I'd love to see what can be bought with a certain budget.

I do recall playing with some international people before Altantica came to Steam.
My friend in the UK couldn't even begin the download because "This item is currently unavailable in your region" shows on his screen.
Where can I see the list of regions where the game is available? I certainly thought it had a worldwide playerbase. He's offline now, but I think the only thing could be if he has his steam client thinking he was not in the UK. I'll ask next time I see him.
Any ideas what the problem could be? How to fix it?

As you read this response look just to the right of my name and there is a little down arrow. Easy to miss on first glance but you have it too.
Its a popup menu. You can 1)read all their posts everywhere including their profile page or 2) simply go to their profile page.

Unfortunately unless they post on these discussions at least once you can only find yours on your friend activity/my activity page. The link for this is not actually on your profile page. Even typing the link to look at someone else's entire history doesn't work. Even if you add this as a clickable link on your comments section steam will instead redirect you to your profile page.

Oh, and if you delete a post or report a user it still shows on the history. Unfortunately chatrooms conversations do not show up on this list (if they even record that).

Actually you missed an important distinction.
1 byte = 8 bits
178Kilobytes = 1424Kilobits

Steam tells you in bytes. Your speed test is telling you in bits. Except that wasn't made clear before you began comparing numbers from the two indicators. Both used capital B. One of the capital B's is officially and technically wrong, but typically accepted by the industry.
They're the same rate per second.

If you think the end of the world means the end of life (at least human life) you're making one huge assumption. The aliens will teleport us all aboard their ships and we get off this rock before it gets hit by PlanetX (or a really big Twinkie). I also wouldn't mind seeing a resonance cascade once in a while.

Take that 178KB/sec.

get 1424MB/sec

The difference is some companies use the capital B for bits, others use it for bytes (8 times larger than one simple on/off value). 178Kilobytes is your speed.

Steam is downloading at the rate you are experiencing from your speedtest.
As for why its only 1.4Megabits/s, I suppose you went with the cheapest high-speed internet like I did.
If you paid for 10Megabits/s then you have a problem with your cable company.

Nobody needs to see your steam login account name in that screenshot. Consider obscuring it for security reasons. Use MSPaint and draw an opaque block over it or take your picture down ASAP.

Also if you have flashplayer problems there are at least two installers: One for Internet Explorer and the one for everything else (Firefox, etc). (Sometimes the installer for chrome is a different version number altogether, just to add to the fun). Uninstall all of the flashplayers you have and install both (or all 3) and that should solve the problem.

In the Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features) control panel list both flashplayers should have the same version number. You might also want to go to the FlashPlayer control panel itself and make sure the automatic updates are working(instead of the uninstall).

Funny thing about Adobe's installers(Including Hackrobat)... you start them and they self-delete, and THEN download the real installer (from a secret location on their servers) to an obscure temp folder location that gets deleted once it finishes.
