You'll be lining up that perfect shot, then BAM, your whole screen is replaced by a "YOU FOUND AN ITEM" screen. Meanwhile your target walks up to you and backstabs your face while you look for the close button.
You will never see it coming but you have to put enough hours into the game. Also playing is more fun than idling(which is frowned upon). But if you must have a weapon immediately start TF2 and go to the MannCo Store. You can even rent each item once (most items) for free for about a week, but of course you can't trade it. If you absolutely have to have it then there's the spending actual money part of the store.

Some items (weapons, hats, decorations) are given because you participated in a game-wide event (like Summer Camp, Halloween, TF2's birthday, even Smissmass). Yet others can be promotional items because you also own another game or bought the pre-release, etc.

Move your non-steam stuff to the external drive?

At least uninstall the trainer before you go back online. But the best bet is to never install it and just play/learn the game. For PC games invovling racing consider using a PS3 or Xbox360 controller. Get a racing wheel or a joystic if that helps. Keyboard and mouse are just a bid too awkward. When you're playing with other people only your own skill matters anyway. If you have the opportunity watch how other people play and I don't mean just what happens on screen.

You mock my machine and rightly so, but I'm sure his is better and thats my point.

The TF2 inventory goes missing all the time, but its always come back.
Check again right now. Its been an entire 7 minutes.

My specs (on my proflie page) are pretty darn good for TF2, Portal2 etc considering how old my technology is. The limit of the motherboard is 2GB (Two slots only, they though ahead in 2003) and I'm always very close to that limit when I play. (normal is 36 processes, 10% CPu, 80-ish% 1.59GB RAM with steam without any game running)
My point is, newer hardware should be pretty darn good for running just about anything. Any apparent issue (beyond ram and video card) is probably related to Windows optimizations or lack thereof.
I have no idea if I can run RAVAGED well, but I could probably play decently. I'm fairly certain this won't do for a game like Crysis regardless of what the store page says.

I think that just by coincidence the files for CS:GO just happened to write to a bad sector. This could have been any file really. Quite literally this has nothing to do with CS:GO itself.

I think your hard drive is about to become non-functional.
Please run Window's own disk check utility and do the full scan to recover bad sectors.
You will notice as you try this it can't do that because windows is running. DO schedule the diskcheck and reboot when you have HOURS of time to not be at the computer. The full disk check can take over 3 hours and its in 5 different stages. All you have to do is not cancel it at reboot. Once its done, it will reboot normally, hopefully having fixed any software problem with the file/folder structure of the disk.
If it doesn't then you will have to buy a new internal hard drive and do a clean install of windows... and then copy all your files, games and settings over while your old drive still spins/works. Talk it over with a local nerd before you actually start formatting drives. Most of the effort is prep-work so you can restore everything without problems.
