Yes, my entire second paragraph explained the start command.

I found the batch file and the line in the batch file (as I expected):
"C:\program files\steam\steam.exe" -login %SteamLogin% %SteamPassword%

Change it to:
start "C:\program files\steam\steam.exe" -login %SteamLogin% %SteamPassword%

When the batch file is processed the start command should launch steam and then move to the next line. The start command is designed to launch instead of wait for the command to finish (by manually exiting steam in this case).

Therefore like I said the command prompt window won't stick around because the batch file can get to the next statements while steam is starting up.

Its the only way.

But perhaps steam doesn't have the correct Windows user permissions to access the picture.

Copy it off of your camera/whatever onto your hard drive and try again.

Maybe the file is corrupted. Verify you can view the image in a browser. Also try opening it in MSPaint.

If this doesn't work create a steam support ticket(not an email).

Click the left box of the upload form area. That should get you the operating system's file picker. You should never hand type the file name into the box. It shouldn't even allow you to.
Once the file is chosen, click upload and you will see it in the three sizes just above the upload form.
The large image is 184x184 pixels so unless you want steam to alter the picture for you, trim/stretch the pic before you upload it.

The batch file does things in sequential order. Steam must exit before the batch file can proceed with its next command(example: the exit statement you wrote afterwards).
(I don't know what code you're running or where you got the batch file).

Consider finding the line in the batch file and put the word start in front of the whole thing. This causes a fire and forget startup as far as processing the batch file is concerned and the command prompt window won't stick around.

Take a screenshot then view it outside of the game. Upload it to your steam profile so we can see the "problem"
If its interference you would be getting it outside of the game too.

Pondering if I should report that free steam games link post. It is out of place in this particular thread though.

The gift must have been one of the holiday sale discounted ones purchased DURING the sale(while on holiday discount) and stored in your inventory or sent directly to someone else. If you already had it and sent it you get no minchievement.
