Unlike most other projectiles, syringes cannot be reflected.

They made it a projectile but for some reason they decided it shouldn't be affected by Pyro's compression blast. One day I hope they change their mind so that all projectiles will be treated consistently.

As a side idea(its a pun, you'll see in a second) I'd like to be able to spin an enemy with compression blast if I've hit their gun from the side(around 90 degrees) and just send them away in the usual manner otherwise.

Pretty sure I remember a "bear scene" that they showed to their customers(regardless if it made it into the playable game itself).
