You made it just in time for the last of the Halloween event, and perfect timing getting ready for the Christmas one (both are in TF2).
Oh and I was completely shocked by the high maturity level of the first replies.

Steam groups are only deleted once it has no more members.
I know a group where the single admin hasn't logged in for 700+ days.(see if you can spot the group on my profile). I figure the guy left steam forever (not banned) or died.
The rest of us still find the group useful or just haven't bothered with leaving it. Its not terribly active anyway, but it does help with finding fellow gamers online, even if they aren't directly steam friends.
And no members can take over as admin since nobody else has that permission level.

I for one welcome our doughy overlords.

You probably right-clicked the steam icon shortcut and picked "Open containing folder" or whatever Macs have these days. (I miss the Alias feature, RIP System7)

I used to play on NT4 Pentium 3 650Mhz with an actual AGP 2x video card on AoHell Dialup. Things have certainly changed a lot in TF2 since then.

Instead of a checkbox how about a library icon or the words "You have this already" on the store page?

Java just works... everywhere, every OS. And its backward compatible with stuff written in earlier versions of java. Also all the dev tools are free.
As a developer though you can get sloppy with memory leaks since the JVM will protect you, but thats no excuse, the profiling tools are free too.
