VAC Ban
Hello, my child was just VAC banned. It appears he was using "sv_cheats 1" with his friends on a private server. Later that day, when he was in a normal match, he hit a hotkey to enable those cheats again by accident. He was then instantly banned.

Is this normal? I don't see why using built in features like this would cause a ban.

Thank You

You only have one player in the FL who recently received a ban, and that's a game ban.
If this is the case, such a ban can be issued for various reasons, so cheats aren't necessarily necessary.

The ban is permanent and irremovable, by the way, in case you're wondering.
In game cheats will never result in a ban.
That command does nothing by itself UNLESS you are actively trying to use using other software to circumvent the server rules...

So, no. It is NOT normal, you are being deceived. ALL servers are VAC protected by default.

Ah yes, I see the difference now. Very interesting. Disgusting these bans are just thrown out to anyone.

lol...Your "childs'" account wasn't banned for using "sv_cheats 1" that does NOT cause a ban.

Why are game bans issued?
Game bans in Counter-Strike 2 are issued when a player attempts to circumvent or interfere with game systems to the detriment of others.

Examples include: <<<<-------
Cheating.
Manipulation of matchmaking rank by deranking or falsely increasing your Skill Group or Counter-Strike Rating.
Botting and/or automation.
Intentionally interfering with the normal operation of game servers or other players.

Game Bans for all of the above are not removed by Steam Support.

Also, if your child told you that was the cause of the ban, it's time to have a heart-to-heart talk with them as it is one of the oldest excuses in the book. They aren't telling you the truth.

First things first, you don't get banned for using anything in game what is build into the game will not result in the profile getting a ban. Vacbans are given for cheating and gamebans is given for one of a few things and both is permanent. Your "son" was caught breaking the rules, so its not disgusting. I see there are two profiles with a gameban on it, but i will give both links to a vacban and gameban cs2 for you to go through

nope, bans are not thrown out to anyone. gamebans are given to profile what breaks the rules. anything what is part of the game, does not cause a ban. also all servers, official, unofficial, training servers, and playing against bots, are VAC enabled by default.

Gamebans are given for one of a few things and its permanent. FYI being toxic can get you banned and skinchangers is seen as cheats

Console commands don't cause bans. Do your best at excuses.
