Is Disability Programs VAC bannable?
I tried to find other sources including Steam, Reddit, and it's all in the air.

I am a blind player, and I am wondering if the usage of disability programs would trigger a VAC ban? Likewise, I mainly play Counterstrike: Source and the FOV command is locked behind sv_cheats command, which obviously not going to be activated in a normal and public server.

Given that my vision is extremely poor, a tighter field of vision allows me to function a little better. My magnification tool functions similar to the Window zoom function, but more flexible, and useful while gaming. I don't want to get ban, but I'd like any information that at least inform users with disabilities using their third party software for multiplayer gaming.

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to be asking, I never did this before.

Thanks.

If you're using something that works how Microsoft Magnifier does, you should be safe because it doesn't interact with the game at all, only the pixels on your screen. The Steam Deck has a built-in magnifier feature as well.

The program I want to use is Glassbrick, it functions similar to MS Magnifier, just a lot more user-friendly with key commands to turn it on and off, adjust levels, etc, etc on the fly. MS Magnifier cannot be use because its function is for reading and caused abnormal behavior when I tried to experiment to avoid risking a ToS violation, it sucks.

I appreciate your response, and I am very hopeful, though given the gray area of my question, I'd love for an official response. After all, I would still be using a third party program within the game and I cannot risk a ban.

it is pretty simple (as boring it might sound):

you dont want to risk a ban ? then dont use any 3rd party programs at all

that is how it is

If you want an official response you should write a support ticket to Valve, it's highly unlikely that any employee will read your question here.

Thank you, how would I go about doing so? I wanted to make a ticket before I made this post, but I couldn't find anything that fits my questions? Thanks.

Support most likely won't be able to help you, as they aren't familiar with every program and don't want to cause problems due to an error.

Generally, a VAC ban is only triggered when a program accesses the game's internal files.

Support will probably tell you the same thing and that using any third-party software is at your own risk.

If you still want to contact them, simply click on "Help" in the top left corner and then on "Steam Support." The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

In your place I would send mail to someone in Valve, instead of contacting Steam Support.

Go to help.steampowered.com, select Counter Strike 2, select "Gameplay or Technical issue", select "I'm having another issue", select "Contact Steam support" and follow the instructions from there.

Thank you for your response. My question had been answered in different ways that I was given different options and avenues of approach on the topic. Thank everyone for the help, I don't think there's any thing else that needed to be added to the conversation.

I created a ticket and will try other ways to seek answers or just deal with it.
