Clarification Regarding VAC Ban

Hello Steam Support,

I recently received a VAC ban on my account, and I am very surprised by this. I have never used cheats, hacks, or any illegal software while playing.

I would like to clarify that sometimes I play from a computer shop, and it is possible that the shop had previously installed cheating programs on their PCs without realizing the risk. However, I personally have never used any cheat on my account. The shop owner has since removed those programs.

You can also check my gameplay history — in all the games I played, my performance has always been clean and fair, with no suspicious activity. I have always respected the rules and never attempted to cheat in any game throughout my life.

Even if the ban cannot be lifted, I kindly ask if you can review my case and provide me with more details about how this happened, so I can make sure it never occurs again.

Your account is not VAC banned, it's game banned. Game bans can be issued for multiple reasons, not only for cheating.

Also keep in mind, that you are responsible for gaming from a safe and clean system.

Using a public PC is a risk you knowingly took, and since you are responsible for your account, it is your own fault.

Not necessary, since your ban is permanent and even support couldn't do anything about it.

No. We do not disclose the reason for your game ban.

People who follow the rules and the account security guidelines don't need this.

Everyone else doesn't follow the rules or the guidelines and therefore deserves it.

So a warning is unnecessary; it only affects the right people and would only lead to people saving their items and continuing to do so.
