VAC - Valve Anti Cheat detected JUST NOW ??

After playing so many years, I have not cheated or downloaded any cheat for Dota 2

And now??

I got this message saying that VAC DETECTED "Modified file detected PLAY IS DISABLED"

Why Valve?

EDIT : Validate steam game files and see if it will be fixed. it works for me. This is so much hassle for me. I think I will not purchase anything from now for VALVE

NOTE: I do not know anything about skin mods. I am just a typical player and not techy at all. No time in installing anything.

PS: Thanks for reply to this question and giving your insights.

I might not trust steam from now on. Maybe I should go with other game provider for Dota 2.

This is frustrating, dota 2 is a dead game and also the game client is not working properly.

yes but how come that lots of players now has the same message? and valve is not doing anything to solve this?

Which is something interfier with VAC servers. Possibly mod problem when you installed.

Also, this is not issue with Valve or anyone else.

I have red that. Dont assume that I have not done my research. It does not help me. Its for CSGO and it was way back in 2018. NOt updated.

Okay. If you have done your research you would know that the issue is with something on your computer interfering with VAC. You do not have a VAC ban. Take just 2 seconds and look at your profile. Do you see any red letters that say VAC ban? No. The link that you were given does have to do with your issue, read it.

If you would have actually read, like you say you did you would have saw this link as well:

If you want help, you guys really need to stop jumping to conclusions and panicking and actually read the stuff that we give you because we know what we are talking about. Your account is not banned. You have a VAC error. Which is not the same thing as a VAC ban.

There was something you DID have. What it was is only for you to know. These messages come from problems on YOUR end, not from Valves.

DOTA2 is free so you didn't have to purchase anything

If DOTA2 is such a dead game why are crying about not being able to play it?

Looks like you blamed all of your problems on Valve when 2 minutes of searching would have resolved your issues/

Why, because it was same problem. Also you are wrong. Just made CS integrity and it works now. Nothing uninstalled or removed on computer for 3 years. That's 100% valve fault because that happened after cs update.
