1) this is why you should always keep your information up to date.
2) Some users still have their original product first activated so they are able to provide this as irrefutable proof.
3) Sending historic bank details through secure means is entirely safe.
ask steam support but they will require you to provide proof like a cdkey from 20 years ago etc
2) Some reps then need to look further into details before engaging.
3) Plain text...read. The last means of "fixing" this was to give banking details through non-secure means.

3. They don't need the full card number nor ask for the full card number. Just the last 4 digits, name and billing address.
back in the olden days the EMAIL was your LOGIN name
And Valve did, for a short time, allow users to swap that out for an account name but stopped that not long after.
Don't always get what we want. The email isn't changeable, and its unlikely to be changeable. You've lived with it for 22 years and you managed to survive. The only option is you can choose to delete your account which will scrub and remove that data.
Look and try to find how to delete your account. Just look for a way to.
There's still a lot of us old ♥♥♥♥♥ still around, eh? Sorry to hear and hope you get it sorted out.
Top right corner of the client, click your name, select Account Details and scroll down to the bottom.
