Ok, I got some messages saying action had been taken, but I went back and checked and they're not banned. I couldn't believe it. I wish it would show me what action had been taken or what post they took action on.

Mods don't care if you say anything derogatory against White people, in fact most mods encourage such behavior. That's the sad reality of Steam and it's moderation staff being progressives. To them Whites don't deserve to be treated fairly and should be persecuted. I wouldn't expect any reports you file to be taken seriously, instead they're likely to be thrown into the trash. Truth is if you are a ardent defender of progressive values and the moderation staff know this they will let you do and say whatever you please.

This is very true. If I had said anything like what that dude was saying, but towards anyone that was not white I would have been banned for a year or more probably.

I assume the mods are AIs at this point. Feels like I've seen many more moddings than we used to and it makes sense if it's an AI following a protocol rather than an individual actually considering the context of each situations.

I have had them send me direct messages so I know they can't all be AI. I can tell by the things they enforce that they are heavily bias to one way of thinking. Racism is racism no matter what your skin color is. Acting like it's only a problem when one demographic does it to another is wrong and hypocritical. I will make support tickets and screenshots to draw as much attention to the issue as I can.

All that have to do is enforce rules. If you're going to ban me because I posted an emoji of a violin and your reasoning behind it is "subject matter is argumentative in nature" and then allow someone to openly on multiple posts say all kinds of vile things and nothing happens to them, I have huge issues with this.

No, Steam does not speak for all Americans. It's the majority of people that are employed by Steam. I imagine they don't have much social interaction. Most probably have very warped views on reality and don't last long in an actual workplace, so they get a job on here where they can help shape the discussion demographic to match their beliefs. It's so obvious.

reports can be acted on in minutes if you upset the right people, for the pettiest of reasons.
and yet, quite frequently, remarks like OP describes (regardless of direction of racism) can stay up for days to weeks before being acted on.

moderation in steam forums is a farce.

ALSO the (banned) that should appear beside names is unreliable.
sometimes it appears, sometimes it doesn't...
