America is shifting in a certain direction and the Steam admins are shifting with them.
For Steam we are part of the herd.
But for the government Steam itself is part of the herd.
All that have to do is enforce rules. If you're going to ban me because I posted an emoji of a violin and your reasoning behind it is "subject matter is argumentative in nature" and then allow someone to openly on multiple posts say all kinds of vile things and nothing happens to them, I have huge issues with this.
The sheep never shape the discussion, they questionless do what they are told by their herders.
reports can be acted on in minutes if you upset the right people, for the pettiest of reasons.
and yet, quite frequently, remarks like OP describes (regardless of direction of racism) can stay up for days to weeks before being acted on.
moderation in steam forums is a farce.
ALSO the (banned) that should appear beside names is unreliable.
sometimes it appears, sometimes it doesn't...
