The UK and Australia suck. (Your Thoughts?)
Thank you UK for the lovely "Online Safety Act" and Australia for the "Collective Shout" feminist group that defend the PDF movie "Cuties" for policing the rest of the world.

Gotta love how payment processors and Collective shout are completely okay with a platform like Roblox that actually has predators within the community, but somehow hates Steam for having the audacity to sell shoddy adult video games that the majority of users, me included, do not pay for nor own.

Thanks for making the modern gaming era even worse.

Well the Roblox situation is gonna be the talking point as to why we are going to IDs here as well.

And Roblox now requires IDs.

Or why You Tube is going to an ID based system here, even with no ID Law.

And so my view is Steam is gonna end up doing this across the board as YT is, being they see the writing on the wall.

As i think Xbox, PS and others are.

A few bad apples spoil the bunch. ID's are needed because of that.

At the end of the day people will complain either way. But having ID's are good to help protect people from either predators or being exposed to things they shouldn't be exposed to.

Something has to be done about it. The internet shouldn't be a wild west anymore where anything goes.

I grew up when it was just us nerds on the internet and having local computer club get togethers. Then I saw more people get computers and start to use chat rooms where people looked for underage kids. Here we are today where almost everyone seems to be on the internet, which includes all the bad apples looking for bad intentions in an endless sea of social media and games.

If not ID's, then what else can you do to protect people? People are doing illegal things on the internet with no consequence, when if in real life they'd be in big trouble.

How exactly is it affecting you? It isn't. You are in the USA according to your profile.

As an Australian I can confirm it sucks here at the moment, beautiful country and people but so far under the grip of authoritarianism and left wing tyranny that it’s becoming hard to have a normal life, when you compound that with the insane cost of living it really starts to make life difficult. People are starting to rise up against it in a massive way here though, so hopefully us and the UK are on track for full scale revolutions and can finally take our countries back.
Gonna get much worse before it gets better.

Bet on seeing the whole of the civilized world have some form of age verification by the end of the decade.

I mean, you as an US-American, should be grateful to "Collective Shout," since it's a Christian group after all and they're even against all the LGBTQ stuff.

How is religion even remotely relevant to this topic?

Fair point, I am just one person in a different country, but you are not considering the countless other steam users who live in the UK who are affected.
im sure it sucks for anyone on centrelink whose broke and doesn't want to work to become successful and cries about everything being too hard, and doesn't actually live here yet talks garbage, ,you are what you've become, but for Aussies who are proud of this country and don't bag it out for their own satisfaction due to self inflicted misery and hardship and who work and earn their way, live life and are financially secure and stable and own their homes and raised a family, Australia is awesome. Keep complaining, don't change, that will fix it. you reap what you sow.

I disagree with what you are saying, but I respect that you have made some valid points.

How can society protect children from being exploited? Something should be done and I agree with you here, but not this way.
I would be less mad only they chose to make OWNING A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CREDIT CARD A REQUIREMENT FOR AGE VERIFICATION! Can't even use my Visa card that's already registered. This pisses me off the most as for someone like me who is more than old enough to view the content they are saying I'd have to sign up for a credit card! I have all my life refused to own one as all they do is get you in debt using money you do not have!

How does that have relevance to your original comment?

I'd love to know how it is affecting me, please explain...
Australia has sucked since 1996. The Port Arthur incident was the final straw before the nanny state mentality took control of the nation.

The 'left wing tyranny' just got reelected with the largest majority since John Howard's rise to power. Since then inflation and interest rates have both dropped, so I'm not sure what you think is driving this 'uprising'.
