Account hacked, many items lost in un-sanctioned trades.
My account was recently hacked and I lost a bunch of items that the hackers traded off my account. Steam's support pages says it doesn't replace lost items and that it's my responsibility to secure my account with the mobile authenticator. But steam, I had the mobile authenticator and my account was still hacked. How was this possible? What else am I supposed to do to secure my account? Is there really no way to get my items back, can't you just take them back from the account they were traded to?

Accounts do not get "hacked" . Your items are gone.

:saint:
Hijacked because you leaked your account information.

steam used to do restorations for stolen items. people abused it, so steam stopped. you need to figure out how they got into your account. they didnt guess the log in, and its less likely they hacked the steam servers to get into your account. the risk vs reward is not there for them to just try and breach steam to get into your account for some silly pixels.

If you have access to the account

Steps to take NOW to secure the account:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
6. If points were stolen, do a password RESET to cancel the awards/points before they are delivered

Please review how you are logging into Steam or handling your log in information. You somehow gave them your log in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake login, or you using a 3rd party site to login to steam.
You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login and password and for the security of your computer system. Valve is not responsible for the use of your password and Account or for all of the communication and activity on Steam that results from use of your login name and password by you, or by any person to whom you may have intentionally or by negligence disclosed your login and/or password in violation of this confidentiality provision.

How do you think the hijackers got the Steam Guard codes? Because you leaked them somewhere.

Your email should have all log in information of these hackers, only you know the physical steam guard codes.

Post every detail that you have here, thanks.
So the car manufacturer is responible if one of their customers get their car stolen?

Not use external skin trading sites.
Not fall for lame obvious phishing schemes.
Not log into unknown computers.

So which was it?
Your word is insufficient for obvious reasons, because you could be lying about the hack, and you could be hoping to cheat someone. Simply by convincing the staff do a claw back. For something you did legitimately sell off.

A hacked account and a practiced con artist. Are utterly indistinguishable from one another. This is why they can't just do as you suggest, and duplicating goods is just as good for con artists. Not to mention it devalues what's in circulation.

Content creators are paid to recommend those sites, and those sites exist to separate you from your skins. Unless you stop frequenting shady places, and stop talking to really shady people. All that is going to happen is you getting ripped off.
